What would happen if Osama Bin Laden won the green card lottery? This is just a joke I actualy wana know why do they advertise the green card lottery so badly,its not like there is a shortage of immagrants in the USA?

Once he go to the US Embassy to get the visa, they will get him. Green card lottery is not advertised by the American Government.The advertisements are from the agents or entry submitting companies where they will charge fees from you to submit your entry for the visa lottery.. The American government only operate it as Diversity visa lottery and not as Green card lottery. Successful entrant will be given with LPR Paper which is popularly called as Green card. This lottery is conducted to maintain the diversity of the American people. Those countries which sends more than 50,000 people within the last 5 years can't participate in this lottery. In reality the American Government gives visas to random selected educated people with good back round only.

You dont win it. Its not as simple, you get various levels of consideration. By the time you actually get the greencard you need to show you have 50k dollars in the bank, no criminal record ever, good qualifications etc etc etc I won it.
