The American people live in a repressive and corrupted regime with low wages, poor health and education services. Fraud, lies, financial and military scandal are in the news everyday. What are they waiting for? Reading from the first 34 answer it seems that contentment with mediocrity and lack of ambition are two answers. It may be bad here but it is worst elsewhere so it’s ok. Some seems to have a good life, which I am sure they have, and prefer to turn a blind eye on what is going on in their country or are ready to condone anything just for the sake of patriotism. Come on... give me more. Civic Participation - 38 Answers - 2006-07-01 20:48:58 Best Answer It is great here. What planet do you live on? All Answers Answer 1 It is great here. Power to the people. I'm all for storming the white house. (Ooops. Am I being shadowed??) 2006-07-01 20:51:11 Answer 6 thats all true...but unfortunately we dont have half the poverty lines of some other countries and we are (for the time being) the biggest super power on earth. to stage a revolution now could be problematic in case it failed and weakened us from the inside out. it would leave us vulnerable to terrorist threats. things do need to change eventually, but slowly. we need to remain in control. 2006-07-01 20:51:14 Answer 7 That's already been done. 2006-07-01 20:51:33 Answer 8 I don't see how all these relates to a revolution. America is not that bad anyway. 2006-07-01 20:51:56 Answer 9 November 2008. 2006-07-01 20:52:07 Answer 10 We got a war going on, that's all we need is a revolution in our own country at the same time. How many people do you want to die for nothing? 2006-07-01 20:52:08 Answer 11 We like it this way It took us over 230 years to get here - why would we want to change things You need to understand our ways - you sound un informed 2006-07-01 20:52:10 Answer 12 Your wrong, if you don't like it here leave. You have the freedom to go anywhere you want. Until you get there. 2006-07-01 20:52:11 Answer 13 Were just too damn happy here. You'd love it too if we would let you in. But why would we want whining troublemakers? Anyway if we don't like the president we'll get a better one without killing anybody. We have a good system that usually works. 2006-07-01 20:52:34 Answer 14 Where should this so-called revolution start? 2006-07-01 20:52:36 Answer 15 I think you overstate the problems in the USA. I for one am fairly happy with the way things are. Alot of my destiny is still determined by me. However it is in the declaration of independence that we have a God Given right to dissolve our government whenever we want, good in theory, could be bloody in real life. ***I read your update. You don't give any specifics.Low wages? there is a minimum wage which for many thats not enough, there are CEO's that make way too much. But alot of us make inbetween the 2 extremes, I'm doing fairly well and I still control my own destiny. Fraud? The fraudsters get theirs...Look at Skilling & Lay. Lies? ....We have the freest and most independent press in the world. Eventually everyone gets caught. Sure we could improve. I just reject your charactarization of how bad it is here. Definitely not so bad as to warrant armed rebellion. What is your situation? What would you rise up for ? 2006-07-01 20:53:00 Answer 16 The tipping point hasn't been identified yet - at some point, those in poverty and dispair will realize that they are the majority and then something will happen. As long as they are marginalized and made to think their concerns aren't worthy of action, nothing will happen. 2006-07-01 20:53:43 Answer 17 I wish I could say... seems like your request (which I can appreciate) only represents a small portion of the US. Get more people on board and who knows? 2006-07-01 20:53:50 Answer 18 We are waiting for a great leader to start this revolution. Problem is that if one rises up, ?He/She will be assassinated by those that are benefiting from the demise of this country 2006-07-01 20:54:29 Answer 19 Americans are too selfish to unite and stand for whats right. when I'm president. first thing on my agenda is fixing this unequal and unfair tax system. we give the rich a tax break so they can reinvest in America. are they? well if they are not investing what they are saving they will be fined. i will also ban all trade with communist country's. china we don't need your slave labor and i don't care what effect it has on us. all china is doing with our greed money is building weapons to use against us. Americans don't think about the red army. the red army have control of our ports. hello they are communist. 2006-07-01 20:55:06 Answer 20 Maybe it's because the people that would start the revolution would be the same people that want to stop the violence. 2006-07-01 20:55:22 Answer 21 You obviously live in another country. You do not have a clue as to how this country works. If you do live here, then you are an idiot. Try living in Brazil on $50 a week, or in China on less. The biggest source of lies and scandal is morons like you who spew conjecture and nonsense based on your 1st grade education and lack of common intelligence. 2006-07-01 20:57:43 Answer 22 hey, i'm with you! i've asked before & will ask again...what happened to the activists of the 60's?? this country is going to hell, i guess we're all lazy & can't get off our fat butts to do something about it. people, what ARE we waiting for? 2006-07-01 20:57:45 Answer 23 The news only shows a little bit of what America is like. If your opinion of America is based on the news, then I am sorry for you. I have been to several "third world countries" as well as have been to Iraq three times. The most unfortunate thing about a lot of Americans is that they take a lot of freedoms for granted. I am not saying that Americans are unaware, but running water, electricity, phones, owning more than one car, music, religious differences, TV, and Internet...all of these things are everyday things for Americans and most have never had to live without these things. The news also likes to show only sensational things to its viewers. The sad thing is that most things that are considered sensational is all the bad things that happen with politics, high society, and violence. Its a shame that good things rarely make it into the news today. 2006-07-01 20:59:19 Answer 24 Because I'm not a violent "Rag-Head" who only knows hate. America is the Greatest Nation on Earth and it has treated me wonderfully and I would not change a thing!!!! 2006-07-01 21:00:21 Answer 25 Although the USA is aligned for revolution. (Being almost the same as France and Russia when they revolted) it is the belief of the average American that it is imposible to over throw the government because of its power. The only major attempt failed (The Civil War). But, a revolution is possible, given the number of troops stationed abroad 2006-07-01 21:00:25 Answer 26 Who`s gonna lead`em, you? What country are you from, Utopia? What a stupid question, you`re probably a limey or aussie. No, you`re a dumbass. 2006-07-01 21:01:53 Answer 27 Didn't the Beatles do a song like that? 2006-07-01 21:02:14 Answer 28 Life is what you make it. Work hard + reap the benefits. Good wages and health care. Be a lazy, whining poor me baby, and the result is poverty. Scandals don't effect the average American much. Who cares? How much better is it where ever you are? Maybe you're jealous. Huh? USA-USA-USA-USA-USA-USA 2006-07-01 21:05:47 Answer 29 We also live in a place that has HOOTERS, NASCAR, LAS VEGAS, and we can travel between the states without the need for "papers". There are low wages, but there are also high wages. Our health care system is expensive, yes, but everybody gets the care they need, even illegal immigrants. The free education system might be poor in some areas, but there are some free schools that do excellent work, and the schools for higher education are some of the best in the world. Fraud and lies are the byproducts of having such a healthy and wealthy country. Some people just can't get enough of the good stuff. I don't see a reason for a revolution. I see a need for people to kick up their moral values quotient a few notches, but that comes from within, just as realizing how good we really have it, comes from within. If it is your opinion that things are so bad, go live someplace else. 2006-07-01 21:06:04 Answer 30 a revolution needs to happen in us first... America wake up America change your lives changes your hearts and souls to fight the inner struggles to make this place ours as it is changing whats wrong to right within for us and for them America please if all else don't get trapped in the race don't get consumed consuming don't loose your real personality to social conformity spend a little more time with just you and listen to what you have to say look at the prop-media around you and make a choice you or them let the truth set you free and not on TV 2006-07-01 21:09:32 Answer 31 Use the ballot box, people. Not guns. At least we have some degree of choice. Seek Peace, Fly High, Find Love, Poncho. 2006-07-01 21:11:52 Answer 32 It is going to take the poor people of the United States to rise up and march for revolution. The United States government does a good job of keeping the poor people in this country well fed and housed. They are too complacent to rise up. If you bring your low wages to my house, I can help you start a revolution. You need to be hungry enough to be angry and you have to be angry enough to fight for what you believe in. Come up with a plan and I can help you. 2006-07-01 21:13:12 Answer 33 As bad as it seems, this is still probably the best country to live in. But if things keep up the way they are, It's just a matter of time until the people get fed up with it all. Sylvan learning center shows how bad our education system is by reaching the students who fail in public school systems. And you don't need a Government probe into possible price gouging by oil companies. Highest ever profits already confirms this. Scandal and corruption occurs in all governments and is only curbed by the severity of the penalties when caught. The leaders of this country should be forced to live with the same penalties and laws that the general public does. This should include health care and pensions as well. Then and only then will it get better for all. As far as revolution goes what's the plan for after the fact? 2006-07-01 21:18:02 Answer 34 First of all, what country are you from? Second, if you lived in this one, you would know that the standards of living in this country, even for the poor, are better than just about anyone else's. If the people were so unhappy, there would be a revolution. So obviously, not many people feel the way you do. 2006-07-01 22:04:49 Answer 35 Good Question! I am quite startled at the many "content" and "passive" spokespersons for ignorance that abound in this forum. I don't know if any of you are aware of this or not, but those of you who are of the mindset that revolution is not called for an inapropriate, should remember that our current "way of doing things" is largely a result of an American revolution. And unfortunately, it was the only one. Andrew Jackson said that we NEED, and must have a revolution EVERY 20 YEARS in order to disallow corruption to take root in our government. He suggested that if that did not happen, then our people will have become too lazy, fat, and appathetic to deserve domocracy and liberty. We do in fact need a revolution today. The terrorists are on Pensylvania Avenue, Washington D.C, America. Remember Reichstag 2006-07-01 23:19:39 Answer 36 yes to get all the libs out of hear they can go to france all they do is run away 2006-07-01 23:22:38 Answer 37 That's the US on a good day, so what? Why do you care? You don't live here. When we are discontent we change the guard. There are incredible things happening here for the sake of the world. Take a look us through a happy window. You may be surprised. 2006-07-02 00:02:58 Answer 38 We're scared we might lose our jobs? 2006-07-02 07:48:01 |
